In the event of fire, ROCKWOOL stone wool insulation will prevent or slow the spread of flames. Our products do not produce toxic smoke and will protect the building’s load-bearing structure, thereby protecting both lives and investments.
ROCKWOOL insulation provides in-built fire protection in every slab, roll or panel. And because stone mineral wool can tolerate temperatures up to 1000°C, it is the ideal material for fire protection. There are multiple applications for fire insulation; from structural protection, to insulation products preventing the passage of fire and smoke through e.g. pipes and ducts, cavity barriers, linear gaps and seals.
The natural basic rock material for making ROCKWOOL is an abundant resource. Great care is taken during both the manufacturing process and distribution of finished insulation products to minimise any environmental impact. ROCKWOOL's operation team monitors the production processes carefully to ensure any emissions are within specified limits. It is ROCKWOOL Group policy to adhere to environmental standards better than national or local requirements. Please visit the Sustainabilty section of the website and watch the Sustainabilty video below for more in-depth information.
ROCKWOOL insulation has been proven in service for over 70 years in a wide range of climates and exposures. ROCKWOOL insulation will generally perform effectively throughout the lifetime of the host structure, associated attachments or fittings and therefore does not need any replacement.
ROCKWOOL insulation can easily be cut with a long bladed knife or insulation saw available from DIY outlets.
